TGIF!

Yay, it's Friday! This means much more to me now that I am working outside the house 3 afternoons a week.

I am loving Etsy. I have sold 4 sets of beads already, and have my first feedback! Here are some of the sets I have been working on:

Listing gets me on the torch creating on a more regular basis. And the money is nice too!

Well, I should go and get my things together for Millarville tomorrow.

Etsy

Thanks to everyone who came to see me at the Bead Patio yesterday. The weather was perfect, only started to look threatening at show ending.
I finally took the plunge and have listed some things on Etsy. I am enjoying browsing through the site; it is much more fun and trendy than Ebay. Another thing I like is that everything is handmade. Anyhow, take a look. I am at:

I will be selling some jewellery, and also will have all my loose beads and bead sets with me. Hope to see everyone there!

Back from Edmonton

The Edmonton Folk Festival ended last night, was a great time. We heard lots of amazing music, and sold lots of jewellery. Perfect! Here's a picture of my table within the big craft tent. We are situated on a slope, which takes a bit of getting used to, so if things look crooked, it's because they are (although I guess I could have put my tablecloth on a bit straighter!) I was happy with sales, despite the fact that there were 13 jewellers, out of about 30 booths.
Here's one of the new things I had ready for the show. These are made on a curved mandrel. I put them on ultrasuede cord, but maybe I should just string them onto a chain.
These are some of the drop pendants I have been making. They have sold well for me in Calgary, but I didn't sell a single one in Edmonton. Of course, I made a whole bunch of them.
And lastly, here are my "man" necklaces. I made large hole beads, trying to choose designs that I thought would appeal to men. Then I put them on braided leather cord, 20" long. I only sold one, to a woman, who bought it for herself. Steve obligingly wore one the whole weekend, but no interest from the guys. I also have a whole bunch of these.

Off to Edmonton

Just a quick post, as I am off to the Edmonton Folk Festival tomorrow morning. Sorry, no pix, but I will post some when I get back. I have lots of new stuff to show, including curved beads, "man" beads, and drop pendant beads. Very excited to be selling at the Festival, am looking forward to 3 days of music and hopefully great sales!

I'm Back!

Just a quick post for now, more later when I get home from work.

Ok, I'm back from work. The beads above were done as a special order for Laura McIvor. That's her beautiful chain link bracelet in the photo. You can see more of her designs at http://www.fromhearttohand.com/.

It has been a long time since I posted anything, will try to do better in the future. I got a brand new oxygen concentrator last weekend! Well, I was excited. So, concentrator pumping oxygen, I decided to try taming Terra glass again. This time I came a little closer to getting those fantastic colours.

This set turned out a little darker, but the colour is very rich.

I have been doing a lot of reading about "Etsy" as a selling tool, and think I have just about decided to give it a try. I will post a link when I get up and running. In the meantime, back to work!
