March Monthly Challenge 2011

Well, after a long, long time, I am making a return to blogging. What have I been doing for the last 2 years, you might ask? Over the past year, I have succumbed to my long-running fascination with polymer clay, and it has more or less replaced making lampwork glass beads (for now, anyway). Needing some incentive to get down to the studio, I was inspired to try this monthly challenge over at the Art Bead Scene blog (now there are people who blog with impressive regularity!) I love this painting by Gaugin. It may have struck a chord because My DH and I are off to Thailand for a month in April. I have created a set of beads in polymer clay, and will post pictures of them when I get a chance. Then the challenge is to make something fabulous with them. Stay tuned!

I still have some of your lampwork beads in my bowl of "stare at beads" from the bead show a few years ago!

Welcome to the polymer clay obsession!

Thanks, Elaine! I am enjoying being able to touch the pieces as I work on them, which is generally not a good idea in glass bead making! Was sorry to see that there will not be a Bead Oasis show this year in Calgary.

So was I. I sold my polymer clay beads at the one last year and did well for a first timer.

I'll likely be at the fall bead oasis show in Toronto though!
